SEC Media Days 2012: Mike Slive Opens Proceedings With State Of The SEC

The 2012 SEC Media Days officially got underway with SEC commissioner Mike Slive taking the podium and updating the media on the progress made by the conference over the past decade.

Slive was quick to welcome Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC and talked up their nationally televised debuts against both Florida and Georgia. He also made sure to point out that each school had to give up something when it came to scheduling to fit in the new members.

Slive also indicated that conference revenue had tripled since the 2002 season. He also touted the soon to be in existence SEC Network that will rival the Big Ten Network which will bring even more money to the conference.
