Zach Mettenberger could very well have been representing Georgia at the 2012 edition of SEC Media Days, but he isn't looking back and is thankful for his opportunity at LSU. Mettenberger will enter the 2012 season as the starter for the Tigers but there was a time when he was a young prospect for the Bulldogs before two off the field incidents led to his dismissal.
"It's something I think about every day," Mettenberger said. "It's definitely something I don't want to be (in) that situation again. But at the same time, God had his plan for me, and it's worked out for the best. Hopefully I can take this opportunity and run with it."
After leaving Georgia Mettenberger landed at a junior college in Kansas before heading to Baton Rouge. He will finally get to put his skills on display this season and he hopes to be in the news for all the right reasons this time around.
