UGA Basketball Offseason: Bulldogs Preparing For Exhibition Trip To Italy

Mark Fox's Georgia basketball team has completed five of his team's 10 allotted practices in preparation for its exhibition trip to Italy on August 3rd. This could be yet another transition year for the Bulldogs who have to replace backcourt veterans Dustin Ware and Gerald Robinson.

"We're going to have a lot of competition for playing time. I'll tell you that. "

Fox indicated that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has moved back to his natural shooting guard position which should provide him with more of a size advantage over many of his opponents. Caldwell-Pope primarily played the small forward position last year for the Bulldogs out of necessity.

Georgia's frontcourt struggled for the most part last season and Fox indicated that they are getting stronger and singled out John Florveus for being the most dominant in the paint from early practices.

The Bulldogs will have a difficult time replacing the experience of Ware and Robinson but Fox thinks that incoming freshman Charles Mann, Kenny Gaines and Brandon Morris will make the Bulldogs a much deeper team and expects all to challenge for playing time right away.
