UGA Football Recruiting: Derrick Henry Moves Up Announcement Date

Five-star running back Derrick Henry will announce his college decision sometime next month. Henry had been committed to the Bulldogs for nearly a year before de-committing earlier this summer. Following that he declared Alabama as his new leader and listed Tennessee second and ahead of Georgia who was third.

Henry was in Athens for "Dawg Night" which was encouraging for Bulldogs fans but he once again reiterated that Alabama was his leader following the event. He had originally planned to make his announcement in December and then enroll early at his school of choice. However it now looks like he will make his announcement sometime next month.

The Bulldogs have struggled with running back recruits the last few seasons and that trend continued over the summer with the dismissal of Isaiah Crowell. The Bulldogs added two running backs in last year's recruiting class in Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley. They are also said to be after Alvin Kamara for this year's class.
