The college football season is just a few months away, and watch lists were revealed for the Maxwell (for the nation's best player) and Bednarik (for the best defensive player) awards on Monday. Included on these lists were three Georgia players.
The lone offensive player recognized was quarterback Aaron Murray. As a sophomore in 2011, Murray threw for 3.149 yards, 35 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He has started every game in his first two seasons.
On the defensive side of the football, defensive tackle Jonathan Jenkins and linebacker Jarvis Jones were included. Jenkins had 28 tackles and three sacks last season, his first with the Bulldogs after transferring from a junior college.
Jones racked up 70 tackles and 13.5 sacks as a sophomore in 2011.
The rest of the watch lists will be revealed between today and July 20.
