Two University of Georgia defenders have been named to the National Football Post's 2012 preseason All-America list. Junior linebacker Jarvis Jones and senior defensive tackle John Jenkins were named to the team, along with three other SEC defenders - Mississippi State cornerback Johnathan Banks and LSU's Eric Reid (safety) and Sam Montgomery (defensive end), giving the conference five out of 11 spots available.
With an eye towards the 2013 NFL Draft, Jones could be considered one of the top linebacker prospects in the entire country by the end of the season. Earlier in the week Jones was named to the watch list for the 2012 Walter Camp Player of the Year, along with UGA teammate Aaron Murray.
