UGA Football Preseason: Chase Vasser Earns Two-Game Suspension For DUI Arrest

Add linebacker Chase Vasser to the growing list of Georgia defensive players that will be suspended to start the season for team violations. The school confirmed today that Vasser was arrested for driving under the influence in Atlanta back in May. The school's athletic code of conduct calls for a two game suspension which was confirmed by spokesman Claude Felton.

Vasser was expected to start at outside linebacker and joins Sanders Commings as those players with a confirmed suspension. Branden Smith, Bacarri Rambo and Alec Ogletree are also rumored to be facing suspensions for team violations. Rambo's suspension is rumored to be as many as four games as a second-time offender.

The absences will force the Bulldogs to go deep into their depth chart and has standout wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell primarily working at the cornerback position for the early part of the season.
