The Georgia Bulldogs thought their SEC schedule would be out by now. Unfortunately, the schedule is still a work in progress, according to Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity. The schedule was originally supposed to be finalized by this point, but now McGarity doesn't expect any news on the schedule to come out until later in the fall.
I would think there would be some news later this fall. I'm not certain when.
Georgia's SEC schedule in the 2013 season will include six games against the other teams in the SEC East as well as Auburn Tigers. While it has been assumed that the Alabama Crimson Tide would be the last SEC opponent in 2013 for the Bulldogs, thats not set in stone yet.
The delay on the schedules may also be having an effect on future non-conference scheduling starting in 2015. McGarity wants to wait for things to settle down before making decisions on non-conference opponents.
What's holding us back is kind of waiting to see, a) what the strength of schedule component means, and b) trying to figure out who we're going to play in our conference schedule. You want to wait and see, let the dust settle so to speak before we move forward with any further schedule, '15 and beyond.
