UGA Football Preseason: Watts Dantzler, John Theus Splitting Snaps At Right Tackle

Watts Dantzler and John Theus are splitting snaps with the first team offensive line as the Bulldogs look to settle on a starting combination soon.

Through the first few days of camp the Bulldogs have been lining up with Kenarious Gates at left tackle, Dallas Lee and Chris Burnette at guards and David Andrews at center along with either Dantzler or Theus at right tackle. According to Mark Richt the team wants to settle on a starting combination quickly to allow the line to gel and get accustomed to working together.

"The two things are to get the starting lineup [set] as soon as we possibly can and let them work together," Richt said. "They need to be a cohesive unit that works together in tandem. . . . We're going to find a starting five, then we're hoping to find two or three or four more we think can play."

After setting the starting lineup it will be key for the Bulldogs to find adequate backups and that search could be made much easier if Kolton Houston ever receives the go-ahead from the NCAA.
