The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs will be without sophomore running back Brandon Harton for the next three weeks, according to the university's estimate, after he required surgery to fix an injured thumb.
A walk on, Harton played in five games as a redshirt freshman in 2011 and managed to tally 247 rushing yards and a touchdown in five games. However, he has managed just 15 yards rushing on seven carries so far in 2012 and is behind several players on the depth chart, including freshmen Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall.
Georgia is 5-0 so far in 2012 and hasn't had a game decided by less than 20 points, including their most recent 48-3 victory over Vanderbilt. On Saturday, they'll host Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. ET before a three week road trip. If Harton returns after three weeks, he could be ready to go when the Bulldogs travel to Jacksonville, FL to face the Florida Gators.
