UGA Football Recruiting: Bulldogs have 30 commitments for 2013 class

The Georgia Bulldogs already have 30 players who are committed to playing for the team next season, according to Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Right now, the Bulldogs are expected to have about 33-35 players committed to the team when signing day arrives in February.

Despite the SEC's new recruiting rules enacted to curtail over-signing by limiting classes to 25 players, the Bulldogs can sign as many as 36 players, so long as 11 of those players enroll early to the university. Those early enrollees will be back counted toward the class of 2012, which had a small class of 14 signees:

19 of the 30 signees played their high school football in the state of Georgia. Four are coming from junior colleges and another two are coming from Hargrave Military Academy prep school in Chatham, Va. The official prep signing day is Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013.
