The Georgia Bulldogs snapped a four game losing streak on Friday night, beating the East Tennessee St. Buccaneers, 54-38. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the effort for UGA, posting 13 points with seven rebounds and four assists.
East Tennessee briefly took the lead about eight minutes into the game, but Georgia responded with 15 unanswered points. Up 31-13 at halftime, the Bulldogs were again threatened by the Buccaneers. Donte Williams continued his on-point shooting, going 6 of 7 to boost his shooting percentage for the season to 72. The Bulldogs turned the ball over more than the Buccaneers, 16 to 11, but East Tennessee was unable to capitalize. The Bulldogs held them to 28 percent from the floor, while Georgia was shooting 63.2 Percent.
Lester Wilson was the leading scorer for the Buccaneers, picking up 12 points on 4 of 5 shooting.
The Bulldogs are now 2-4. Their season continues with a home game against the South Florida Bulls next Friday.
