Georgia will travel to Tennessee to take on the Lady Volunteers on Sunday and attempt to secure a win at Thompson-Boling Arena for the first time since 1996, according to Roger Clarkson of DogBytesOnline.
The 10th-ranked Bulldogs have opened the season with a 13-1 record, with their only loss coming against Illinois on Dec. 28. The Lady Volunteers are ranked 12th in the country after suffering three losses to unranked Chattanooga, No. 3 Baylor and then-No. 1 Stanford this season.
This current core group of Bulldogs beat then-No. 3 Tennessee at home, 53-50, in 2010. Jasmine Hassell, Anne Marie Armstrong and Jasmine James were freshmen on that team and will all play a significant role against Tennessee on Sunday.
Both the Bulldogs and Lady Volunteers are 1-0 in conference play heading into this game.
Georgia and Tennessee are two of the six ranked SEC teams this season. Sixth-ranked Kentucky is the highest ranked team in the conference.
