Herschel Walker impressed with freshman running back Todd Gurley

Herschel Walker took notice of Georgia freshman running back Todd Gurley, the Bulldogs' leading rusher after five games this season.

The Georgia Bulldogs call their dynamic freshmen running back duo "Gurshall" to combine the names of Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall. It may be a coincidence that Gurley wears No. 3 and Marshall wears No. 4, but it's certainly not a coincidence that the nickname rhymes with Herschel, as in Walker, as in the baddest man to run the football in SEC history.

Former Dogs back Herschel Walker watched Georgia warm-up before Saturday's nail-biter against Tennessee. Then, he weighed in on Gurley, who ran 24 times for 135 yards and three touchdowns against the Volunteers:

"He's an incredible back," said Walker, the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner, courtesy of the Augusta Chronicle. "He has size and vision. The Georgia fans have something to look forward to with him running the ball like that. There's a couple of them. That's what you need to build your program back up."

Marshall was no slouch, putting in 167 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries of his own.
