Georgia Vs. Kentucky: Mike Bobo pleased with offenses' overall production

Of all the nits to be picked in Georgia's win over Kentucky on Saturday, the offense wasn't one.

Georgia Bulldogs offensive coordinator Mike Bobo was pleased with Saturday's 29-24 win over the Kentucky Wildcats, and he had reason to be proud of his offense. Quarterback Aaron Murray set a career high with 427 yards passing, and two wide receivers—Tavarres King and Malcolm Mitchell—each had career highs in catches; both had nine receptions.

Still, Bobo's offense needed all of that production to put away the Wildcats.

From Seth Emerson of the Macon Telegraph, Bobo said:

"You don't apologize for winning ballgames, period. But the bottom line is we got a W, we did what it took to win a ballgame, that's what we'll be preaching all week."

The offense did not commit a turnover a year after committing four against Kentucky on Nov. 19, 2011.

The Bulldogs' running game was not as stout as the passing game. Georgia only rushed for 77 yards in the game; it was the first time Kentucky had held a team to less than 158 yards on the ground.

Still, Bobo told Emerson they stuck to the running game to force Kentucky's defense from dropping into strict pass coverage:

"There's gonna be times you're stopped, there's gonna be times you punt. And the great thing we did tonight is we didn't turn the ball over and we scored enough points to win. That's the bottom line in this business, period."
