2012 bowl game projections: Georgia could land in Chick-Fil-A Bowl

With the season past the halfway mark, the Bulldogs could end up in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

There are many possibilities for the Georgia football team, and they could certainly improve on where they are projected to land come bowl season. As the SEC's No. 5 team in the overall standings, they would currently take part in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

The Bulldogs have just one loss and currently sit at No. 10 in the BCS standings. With the schedule Georgia has in front of it, it could still make a run for any top-tier bowl, including the BCS title game. The Bulldogs still play BCS No. 2 Florida, and could play BCS No. 1 Alabama in the SEC championship if they are able to run the table.

Georgia Tech doesn't project to make a bowl as they currently sit at 3-4 with a number of tough games remaining on the schedule. The Yellow Jackets host a BYU team on Saturday that gave Notre Dame all it could handle. They also still have games left on the road at Maryland, Georgia, and North Carolina and at home against a surprisingly good Duke team. If Georgia Tech makes it to a bowl, they will certainly have earned it down the stretch.
