Georgia Bulldogs tight end Jay Rome was late to practice for a second consecutive day after receiving extra treatments on an undisclosed injury, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The 6'6", 265-pound redshirt freshman was not listed on Georgia's daily injury report, but he did acknowledge that he's dealing with a nagging ailment. Still, Rome does not anticipate missing Saturday's game against the Florida Gators.
"It'll be fine," he told the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Wednesday. "Nothing major."
Through seven games this season, Rome has caught two passes for 36 yards. His best reception of the year came during Georgia's 51-44 win over Tennessee, when he hauled in a pass for 21 yards.
Kickoff for Georgia's game against Florida is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. ET in Jacksonville, Fla. The game has major SEC and national title implications, as the winner will have the inside track toward winning the SEC East.
