Milan Richard, the nephew of former Georgia Bulldogs running back and Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker, has been offered a scholarship by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Richard, a 6'2, 223-pound tight end plays for Calvary Day High School in Savannah. Both his parents ran track for the Bulldogs and his mother Veronica is Herschel's sister.
The Yellow Jackets' offer is the ninth one given to Richard, which includes schools such as the Bulldogs, N.C. State Wolfpack, UCLA Bruins, Vanderbilt Commodores, Mississippi Rebels and Louisiana Ragin Cajuns. Richard would be curious to see what position he would play for the Yellow Jackets because they do not employ a tight end in their triple-option gameplan.
Richard does plan on visiting Georgia Tech unofficially on Nov. 17 when the Yellow Jackets play the Duke Blue Devils to learn more about the university. Despite the family connections to the Bulldogs, Richard has been adamant that he is completely undecided at this point on his college decision:
"I'm 100-percent undecided. I'm taking my time with the recruiting process. I don't want to be the guy who commits early and then de-commits later. If it ends up being Georgia, then I'm going to go to Georgia and be happy. But if not, I'm going to be happy wherever else I go."
Whichever school he chooses, Richard says he plans to major in business.
