Wide receiver Michael Bennett's season-ending ACL tear could be devastating for the Georgia Bulldogs and their fans.T Kyle King of Dawg Sports writes,
"Bennett is a reliable possession receiver in the Kris Durham mold, and, frankly, his absence will be felt in Columbia this Saturday. In fact ... all Michael Bennett ever does is catch everything that's thrown in his direction.
That sure-handedness will be sorely missed this Saturday. This is a huge loss and a potential game-changer."
Bennett emerged from relative obscurity to become the Bulldogs' top passing option. This season, the redshirt sophomore racked up 24 receptions for 345 yards and four touchdowns, averaging almost 70 yards per game.
The injury occurred during practice on Tuesday. The loss of Bennett may be softened by the return of Malcolm Mitchell to the wide receiving corps. The sophomore had been contributing on defense, but he is now likely to see more action on offense.
