Following their 35-7 loss to then No. 6 South Carolina on Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs dropped seven spots in the USA Today Coaches' Poll and are now No. 12.
A week after they received 1,227 points, the Bulldogs received just 761 points this week, narrowly putting them ahead of No. 13 Clemson who collected 759 points. After dominating the Bulldogs on Saturday, South Carolina moved up three spots from No. 6 to No. 3.
This is the first time the Bulldogs have been outside of the top 10 of the Coaches' Poll this season. They opened at No. 7 in the preseason poll and were ranked either No. 7, No. 6 or No. 5 prior to this week. While the loss dropped Georgia down the polls, they are far from out of contention. Thirteen of the teams in the top 25 are still undefeated. With many likely to lose at least one game, Georgia should have plenty of opportunity to move back up the polls.
