The Georgia defense recorded its first shutout of the season and the first against Auburn since 1976 as they defeated the Tigers 38-0 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs defense hasn't given up any points in the last six quarters dating back to their game against Ole Miss on Nov. 3 and they have only allowed one touchdown in the last three games. The Georgia defense is giving up 18.8 points per game, which ranks 22nd in the country.
Georgia held Auburn to just 57 yards rushing on 27 carries and 238 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs also forced two turnovers while holding the Tigers to 11 first downs. Auburn was 3-of-11 on third down conversions.
The 38-point margin of victory tied Georgia's 45-7 win in 2011 as the second largest margin of victory in the history of the series. The Bulldogs have won six of the last seven meetings against the Tigers.
