Georgia Vs. Auburn: Aaron Murray celebrates birthday with SEC title berth

Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray made the most of his birthday on Saturday, throwing for 208 yards and three touchdowns and helping the Bulldogs breeze past Auburn, 38-0, to capture a berth in the SEC title game.

The redshirt junior left the game in the third quarter after his services were no longer needed to secure the victory, and the SEC east title was just the cherry on top of an excellent week for Murray - his father was pronounced cancer-free earlier in the week after undergoing radiation treatments.

Murray and the Bulldogs captured the back-to-back SEC east titles for the first time since 2002-2003, and Murray told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the celebration on the plains was exactly what they had hoped for.

"It was a great celebration," said Murray. "I was pumped up, everybody was pumped up. The locker room was going crazy, water was being thrown everywhere, Coach jumping up and down. It's huge to win the East back-to-back years. That's not an easy thing to do."

Additionally, the Bulldogs surely enjoyed the fact that previously-unbeaten Alabama was downed by Texas A&M earlier in the day, making the Tide - the favorites to win the SEC west - look more vulnerable to a Bulldog upset in the SEC Championship game on December 1st.
