The Georgia Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 5 in the latest BCS rankings, and to keep that ranking, the Bulldogs will have to avoid a massive upset this weekend when they take on the Georgia Southern Eagles.
So far, the Bulldogs haven't been taking their date against the Eagles lightly, as the Georgia defense prepares to take on Georgia Southern's triple-option offensive attack:
"It's a different style of offense, so we've got to get ready for it," Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham said after Saturday's win against Auburn.
Consequently, the Bulldogs used full pads during Georgia's Monday practice – a day when the Bulldogs usually just use helmets and shoulder pads.
Georgia Southern averages 37.6 points per game offensively, and are coming off of a 69-26 win over Howard. Though the competition Georgia Southern has faced isn't anywhere near the level of the SEC, the Eagles still boast a potent offense, and are a fairly unique offense at that.
Kickoff between the Bulldogs and Eagles is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, from Sanford Stadium.
