Georgia Southern vs. Georgia: Shoulder injuries lingering for Chase Vasser, Chris Burnette

The Georgia Bulldogs may have Josh Harvey-Clemons play at the outside linebacker position when they try to stop the triple option of Georgia Southern.

While he's been out for three weeks already, the Georgia Bulldogs aren't expecting Chase Vasser to return to his outside linebacker position any time soon, as his shoulder injury isn't healing as well as the team would like. Georgia head coach Mark Richt told Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald that the linebacker isn't close to returning:

"Chase's situation is that he's still not coming around with the shoulder injury," Richt said. "He's just not healthy right now."

Vasser recorded 19 tackles in five games before the injury forced him out of the lineup. In his place, the Bulldogs have tried many different approaches, but most recently they've had freshman Josh Harvey-Clemons take reps at the position as the team prepares for the triple option of Georgia Southern for Saturday.

Also nursing a shoulder injury for Georgia is Chris Burnette. The offensive guard missed practice on Tuesday, and it looks as if he could be out of the lineup for a second consecutive week.
