Georgia Bulldogs offensive line coach Will Friend said that the Bulldogs offensive line had its best performance of the year in the 38-0 win over the Auburn Tigers Saturday.
In an interview with Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald, Friend was impressed with how the team played against the Tigers,
"It was the best they've graded as a group. I thought they played pretty good, they played hard and did good on assignments."
The Bulldogs offense ran for 289 yards against the Tigers, while Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns.
Georgia's performance was even more impressive after starting right guard Chris Burnette missed the game due to a shoulder injury. The Bulldogs had Dallas Lee transfer from left guard to right guard, while Kenarious Gates slid over to left guard from his left tackle spot. Mark Beard came off the bench to start at left tackle last week.
Even with the team's stellar performance against Auburn, Friend said that Burnette will have a starting position whenever he does come back from his shoulder injury.
"When Chris comes back, Chris Burnette is a starter on this offensive line. There's no doubt about that."
