Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Jarvis Jones is one of three finalists for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which is awarded to the top defensive player in college football.
Jones has been a force for Georgia so far in 2012, recording 62 tackles in nine games, and registering 10.5 sacks. 18 of Jones' 62 tackles have been for loss, resulting in a loss of over 100 yards.
Further, Jones has been destructive on the field, hurrying quarterbacks 17 times and forcing six fumbles.
The other two finalists for the Bednarik Award have quite the resume, too. Along with Jones, Notre Dame's Manti Te'o and South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney are finalists for the prestigious award.
Te'o will likely be viewed as the favorite to capture it, as he's likely going to be named one of the Heisman finalists. Te'o has recorded 98 tackles in 11 games for the Fighting Irish, and has six interceptions to his credit.
