The Georgia Bulldogs are projected by multiple bookmakers as a seven-point underdog against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game, but would be narrow favorites in the BCS Championship Game if they were to face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Todd Fuhrman, a former oddsmaker at Caesar's Palace, and RJ Bell of pregame.com, both have Georgia as a touchdown underdog to Alabama. Georgia already has their place in the SEC title game locked in, but Alabama needs to beat Auburn on Saturday to clinch their spot.
If the Dawgs can win the SEC, they would almost certainly secure a spot in the national championship game. If they played Notre Dame in that game, Fuhrman thinks they'd open as a four-point favorite over the Irish, while Bell thinks they would only be favored by one point.
Both Fuhrman and Bell predict that Alabama would be either a 10- or 11-point favorite over the Fighting Irish in the title game.
