Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Branden Smith is one of the members of a senior class playing its final home game in Athens on Saturday. Smith anticipates that it could be a bit emotional for him.
"It hasn’t really hit me yet," Smith said, "but I know when I go out on that field for the last time, there might be some tears in my eyes — it might hit me then."
He has made seven starts for the Bulldogs in 2012 and leads the team in passes broken up. Over the course of his versatile career, Smith has played some running back and returned punts as well as kickoffs. He came into the season having appeared in 36 games for the Bulldogs, 17 of them as a starter.
The Bulldogs host rival Georgia Tech at noon ET on Saturday. They'll face the Alabama Crimson Tide for the SEC championship the following week.
