Ole Miss Vs. Georgia: Bulldogs' trick play provides offensive spark

Georgia routed Ole Miss on Saturday, and a trick play helped get the Bulldogs going.

Georgia put up 37 points on Ole Miss in its win on Saturday, but the Bulldogs' offense hadn't done much until Aaron Murray hit Marlon Brown on a 66-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. The score came off a trick play, where Murray pulled off an excellent fake handoff, and it would set off a 37-0 run for the rest of the game.

Ole Miss jumped out to a 10-0 lead before that trick play, but that 66-yard score was the first of four touchdown passes for Murray as he racked up 384 yards through the air. The play may have motivated the Georgia defense as well, as the Rebels were shut out after the first quarter.

Murray talked about the trust that he had to put into his teammates after the game to pull the big play off, according to dogbytesonline.com:

"It’s scary when you’re just standing back there looking this way and you don’t know what’s going on behind you," Murray said. "You have to have a lot of faith in your offensive line and faith that the safety is going to jump it and it’s going to be wide open. It works pretty much every time, but you’ve just got to trust it."

In the end, the Bulldogs finished with 533 total yards of offense and were dominant after the trick play-touchdown. It was a big spark that helped Georgia win their third-straight game and move up in the rankings.
