As if the Georgia Bulldogs needed extra motivation heading into Saturday's contest against the Tigers, Auburn offensive guard Chris Slade offered a quote that fired up the Twitter-sphere. Speaking about Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones, Slade told the media:
"You've got to be able to get your hands on him, block him. He's a good player, but you can stop him. It's not that hard. You've just got to go out there and make the calls, go out there, execute the calls and know that he's probably going to be on the side where the tackle will be made. He's the type of player who will be one of the impact players."
Just to clarify, that's Jarvis Jones, the star linebacker who is expected, by most accounts, to pick up his second consecutive All-American award. Jones already has 8½ sacks this season, which is second-best in the SEC.
Jones and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham didn't offer much in the way of response. The two are focused on getting a win on Saturday, which would bring Georgia one step closer to an SEC title.
The Bulldogs are favored heavily in this game. Not to mention, Auburn's offense has struggled mightily this season. The Tigers are second-worst in the SEC, averaging just 19.2 points per game.
