Georgia Southern Vs. Wofford Final Score: Eagles Win First SoCon Title Since 2004

The Georgia Southern Eagles defeated the Wofford Terriers 31-10 to claim their first SoCon title since 2004 and their ninth conference title overall. Georgia Southern was led by quarterback Jaybo Shaw who accounted for all four of their touchdowns. Shaw had three rushing touchdowns on 40 yards and went 6-for-12 in the air for 111 yards and a touchdown. Running back Dominique Swope led the the offensive attack for Georgia Southern by rushing for a career high 165 yards with an averaged 6.1 yards per carry.

The Georgia Southern defense came to play as well by shutting down Wofford's passing attack by holding them to 86 passing yards and forced two turnovers that led to seven points. Third-down stops were another key to Georgia Southern's wins as they limited Wofford to 4-for-11 on third down conversions.

The win for Georgia Southern puts them in the FCS playoffs by way of being the SoCon champions. There is still one regular season game left which will be on the road against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
