Georgia Southern Vs. Alabama Update: Crimson Tide Rumbles To 17-7 Lead

The reward for Georgia Southern winning the Southern Conference title? Having the opportunity to face off against the No. 3 team in the nation, the Alabama Crimson Tide. After one quarter of action, the difference in talent and size is quite apparent, but the Eagles are hanging tough as Nick Saban's bunch has a 17-7 lead early in the second quarter.

Alabama scored put the first 17 on the board, as a blocked field goal kick by Dre Kirkpatrick and AJ McCarron's touchdown pass to Trent Richardson for 4 yards put the Crimson Tide comfortably ahead.

Then Dominique Swope happened.

Swope rushed the ball to the right side, made a man miss, and then was up the sidelines for an electrifying 82 yard touchdown run. The run is the longest given up by the Crimson Tide defense in their entire history, and Georgia Southern is bringing the fight to Alabama.
