FCS Playoffs Bracket Update, Old Dominion Vs. Norfolk State Final Score

The 2011 FCS playoffs are underway, and Georgia Southern now has an opponent. Old Dominion is headed to Statesboro next week.

The Georgia Southern Eagles will host the Old Dominion Monarchs on Dec. 3 at a to-be-determined hour after ODU dispatched Norfolk State, 35-18. It was never in doubt for the Monarchs, who rolled out to a 21-7 halftime lead and never looked back, except to reminisce perhaps.

Old Dominion enjoyed a 9-2 regular season, along with a 6-2, second-place run through the endless CAA. They've already mustered a resounding win over Georgia S., though that was Georgia State. The Monarchs haven't lost since Oct. 15, a four-point setback to CAA champ Towson.

The winner of GSU-ODU will likely take on either Appalachian State or Maine.

In other action, James Madison toppled Eastern Kentucky, 20-17, while Central Arkansas and Grambling State look set to advance if their scores hold. Stony Brook and Albany are locked in a tight one in the fourth quarter.

Stay tuned to first-round FCS playoff scores right here.
