The Georgia Southern Eagles will host the Old Dominion Monarchs on Dec. 3 at a to-be-determined hour after ODU dispatched Norfolk State, 35-18. It was never in doubt for the Monarchs, who rolled out to a 21-7 halftime lead and never looked back, except to reminisce perhaps.
Old Dominion enjoyed a 9-2 regular season, along with a 6-2, second-place run through the endless CAA. They've already mustered a resounding win over Georgia S., though that was Georgia State. The Monarchs haven't lost since Oct. 15, a four-point setback to CAA champ Towson.
The winner of GSU-ODU will likely take on either Appalachian State or Maine.
In other action, James Madison toppled Eastern Kentucky, 20-17, while Central Arkansas and Grambling State look set to advance if their scores hold. Stony Brook and Albany are locked in a tight one in the fourth quarter.
