It has been nothing but struggles lately for Georgia Southern and head coach Charlton Young, who has won just 14 games in his first two seasons on the bench in Statesboro. Young begins his third season under pressure to improve significantly from the 5-27 record his Eagles posted last season.
Georgia Southern's basketball season will begin on November 11 when the Eagles host Valparaiso. Road trips to Wake Forest, Georgia State and Auburn highlight the Eagles non-conference slate.
Georgia Southern will host Southern Conference preseason favorite Chattanooga on December 1 and will host former Georgia Tech head coach Bobby Cremins when the College of Charleston visits Statesboro on January 21. The Eagles will close out the regular season schedule on Feb 25 against Davidson and will begin the SoCon Conference Tournament on March 2 in Asheville, North Carolina.
