Elon 14, College of Charleston 12
Elon out lasted the College of Charleston in a slugfest that set SoCon tournament records with 39 hits and 26 combined runs scored. Ryan Kinsella had four hits and five RBIs to lead the Phoenix. It wasn't a good day to be a pitcher but Andrew MacDonald earned the win despite giving up five hits and four runs in just 2 2/3 innings.
Furman 9, Western Carolina 8
Alex Abrams hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to give Furman the win. Will Miller collected three hits for Furman and Matt Solter picks up the win with a perfect inning of relief.
Georgia Southern 8, The Citadel 1
T.D. Davis hit a grand slam in the third inning to help Georgia Southern to a 2-0 start in the 2012 SoCon Baseball Tournament. Justin Hess picks up the win and Jarret Leveret earns the save with three innings of scoreless relief.
Samford 12, Appalachian State 7
Brandon Miller homered twice and drove in four runs as Samford defeated Appalachian State 12-7. Charles Basford picks up the win while Seth Grant gets tagged with the loss.
