The Georgia Southern Eagles (5-1 Southern Conference, 6-1 overall) put first place in the Southern Conference on the line this Saturday against the Chattanooga Mocs (3-1, 4-3). The Eagles enter this game coming off a 38-17 victory over the Furman Paladins.
In that game, quarterback Jerick McKinnon completed 3-of-5 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown, a 75-yard touchdown pass to Zach Walker. McKinnon also added 65 yards rushing on 16 carries and a touchdown while Dominique Swope scored two touchdowns on 14 carries for 67 yards. Jonathan Bryant also ran for 75 yards on 6 carries and scored a touchdown.
The Mocs on the other hand enter this game coming off a 20-13 victory over the Samford Bulldogs. After losing three of their first four games, the Mocs have won three in a row, including against the Citadel Bulldogs, the only team to beat the Eagles this season.
In their win over Samford, quarterback Jacob Huesman completed 18-of-23 passes for 164 yards and touchdown, a 16-yard pass to Marquis Green in the third quarter. Huesman also ran 23 times for 64 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles will play the Mocs at Chattanooga on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m.
