2012 Southern Conference Standings: Georgia Southern finishes in 3-way tie for championship

The Georgia Southern Eagles have earned with a three-way share of the Southern Conference football championship. Who finished tied with the Eagles?

Based on results from other teams, the Georgia Southern Eagles finished in a three-way tie for the Southern Conference Championship. After defeating the Howard Bison in a non-conference game, 69-26, the Eagles saw that the Wofford Terriers defeated the Chattanooga Mocs, 16-13 in overtime. The third team in the equation, the Appalachian State Mountaineers, defeated the Furman Paladins 33-28.

Both the Eagles and the Terriers have games against FBS opponents next Saturday, the Eagles against the Georgia Bulldogs and the Terriers against the South Carolina Gamecocks. The Mountaineers' season is complete so they wait and see who will reach the FCS playoffs.

The Mocs and the Citadel Bulldogs are tied one game behind the Samford Bulldogs for fourth place in the conference. The Mocs will play the Elon Phoenix on Saturday while Citadel will play the Paladins. The Samford Bulldogs will play the Kentucky Wildcats and the Western Carolina Catamounts will be playing the Alabama Crimson Tide.
