Following a 66-53 defeat at the hands of the Charlotte 49ers, the Georgia Southern Eagles have lost their first two games of the 2012-13 season. Charlotte moves to 2-0 with the win.

The teams went back and forth in the first half, but the Eagles entered halftime trailing, 37-34. The second half was a different story, as Georgia Southern was held scoreless for the first 5:46, by which time the Charlotte lead had grown.

The 49ers dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Eagles, 40-19. Charlotte also shot almost 50 percent from the field, compared to Georgia Southern's mark of 35 percent.

Eric Ferguson was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Ferguson was just 3 of 13 from the field. Freshman guard Cleon Roberts also had 11 points.

The 49ers were glad to have senior Chris Braswell back at forward after he served a one-game suspension for violating team rules. Braswell led the 49ers with 21 points and 12 rebounds.
