Eric Ferguson scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field to lead Georgia Southern over Brewton Parker, 79-56, on Saturday.
C.J. Reed, Tre Bussey, Cleon Roberts and Marvin Baynham also scored in double-figures for the Eagles as they outscored the Wildcats, 48-24 in the first half. As a team, Georgia Southern shot 60.4 percent from the field, including 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from three-point territory.
The Eagles were outscored by one point, 32-31, after building a big lead in the first 20 minutes.
Georgia Southern snapped its three-game losing streak with the win and improved to 3-5 on the season. All three wins for the Eagles have been by double-digits, including dominating wins over Webber International and Kennesaw State earlier this season.
Darrie Stephens led Brewton Packer 26 points. No other player had more than six points for the Wildcats. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 2-10 on the season as the team now lost nine of its last ten games.
