Georgia Southern snapped its three-game losing streak on Saturday and coach Charlton Young is pleased with how his team is coming together, according to the StatesBoroHerald.com.
Eric Ferguson scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field to lead Georgia Southern over Brewton Parker, 79-56, on Saturday.
C.J. Reed, Tre Bussey, Cleon Roberts and Marvin Baynham also scored in double figures for the Eagles as they outscored the Wildcats, 48-24, in the first half. As a team, Georgia Southern shot 60.4 percent from the field, including 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from three-point territory.
Young told the Herald that the team's "chemistry" and "offensive flow" is coming together while emphasizing that his squad is still a poor rebounding team. Young felt that the team's execution on the glass improved on Saturday versus Brewton Parker but it will need to be even better in upcoming games.
Georgia Southern will play Virginia Tech next Saturday in the 2012 Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic.
