2011 Georgia State Football Recruiting: Fatu Ulale Makes Committment #5

According to Rivals.com, Cerritos Community College Defensive End Fatu Ulale is the 5th committment to the Panthers 2011 signing class. The 6’2, 275lbs Ulale has joined the Panthers and will participate in Spring practice. Ulale is a California native and prepped at Bellflower HS. He will have 3 years to play 2 seasons.

Ulale has major interest from Washington after HS but his academics forced him to go the JUCO route. He is the 3rd Panther with Somoan heritage joining LBs Jake and Louie Muasau.

Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal Constitution spoke with Ulale yesterday and Fatu gave his reason for choosing GSU:

I just fell in love with the coaching staff, basically,” Ulale said of choosing to come all the way across the U.S. to play football. “I had a connection with some of the other players there, too, and I feel like I may be able to come in and have an impact.”

Fatu has made incredible strides at Cerritos and enter the Norwalk, CA campus at 245lbs. He will enroll on Tuesday with the rest of the Panthers at 275lbs. With even more emphasis on S&C and proper nutrition, Ulale could project at 285-290lbs by the time he’s a Sr.
