In an interesting turn of events, The University of West Alabama announced via their athletic website today that they will host Bill Curry and the Georgia State football team this fall.
"With three opponents who made the 2010 playoffs (Valdosta State, North Alabama and Delta State), a team that has never lost a football game (South Alabama) and another coached by Bill Curry (Georgia State) we feel that this schedule will be one that our fans will really enjoy."
The Division II Tigers went 7-4 in 2010 and will serve as the third road opponent from the state of Alabama. In 2010, the Panthers faced undefeated South Alabama and defending BCS champion University of Alabama.
Georgia State announced last week that would face the University of Houston and former Heisman Trophy candidate Case Keenum on the road as well. Other confirmed road games for the 2011 slate include a trip to FCS Playoff participants South Carolina State and Jacksonville State as well as first year program University of Texas-San Antonio.
The Panthers' full schedule is expected to be announced in the next two weeks.
