2012 Georgia State Football Recruiting: Ryan Watson, Samuel Batiste Snatch Offers

The Georgia State football coaching staff has turned quite a few heads thus far in the 2012 recruiting cycle to evaluate prospects early and offer quickly. The Panthers have extended offers to two talented defensive end prospects in Ryan Watson of Heritage HS and Samuel Batiste of Collins Hill HS.

Watson is 6’3, 220lbs and is very quick. He is very much a motor guy with very strong pursuit to the football. He will continue to get stronger and project as a 250-265 weakside defensive end. He put up very impressive numbers for the Patriots as a Junior with 24 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in 2010. Watson’s only other current offer is an academic package to Air Force.

Junior Highlights:

Batiste is 6’2, 238lbs and played both defensive end and defensive tackle in 2010. He has very strong play recognition skills from the strong side and has a very strong base to build upon. He uses his hands well and has multiple moves which screams very good HS coaching. He looks to have a frame that could easily put on 25+ lbs with no change in agility or quickness. Batiste is also holding academic packages to Air Force and Harvard.
