2012 Georgia State Football Recruiting: DE James Mathis, LB John Silas, C Kyron Samuels Grab Offer

The Georgia State football team has reported for summer workouts to work with the strength and conditioning staff to prepare for the 2011 season while their coaching staff, led by Bill Curry, continues to comb the Southeast for impact players for 2012.  The Panthers latest offers are to DE James Mathis, ATH John Silas and C Kyron Samuels.

Mathis is a 6'0, 250lbs strongside defensive end from Lowndes HS with very good burst and great hands.  He has very good upper body strength and is powerful in collapsing the pocket from the defensive tackle or defensive end spot.  James has a very good swim move and looks to be a good athlete for his size.  He also hold offers from Troy and FCS Samford.

Junior Highlights 

Silas is a 6'0, 207lbs linebacker prospect from Hillgrove HS.  He is a solid tackler who is likely projected as at outside linebacker at the college level.  John also holds an offer from Ball State and academic packages to Air Force and Navy.

Samuels is a 6'2, 295lbs BCS caliber center prospect from the Fairhope School in Fairhope, AL.  He is one of the strongest offensive line prospects in the state of Alabama.  Already listed as a 3 star prospect, Kyron has increasing interest from Auburn and Alabama holding more than a dozen offers from Sun Belt, MAC and FCS schools.
