2012 Georgia State Football Recruiting: DE Shalom Ogbonda Claims Offer

The Georgia State football coaching staff had been locked on prospects in Georgia, Florida and Alabama thus far in the 2012 recruiting cycle.  Defensive end Shalom Ogbonda of Kempner HS in Sugarland, Texas now holds an offer from the Panthers.

The 6'4, 232lbs strongside defensive end has very good quickness and is very active in run support.  Brian Perroni of Rivals.com has called Ogbonda "one of the better kept secrets in the Houston area."  He has long arms and good technique for a taller end.  Shalom is a very good athlete and has seen his interest increase after good showings at camps in Houston.  He has the frame to add 20-25lbs with college level strength and conditioning without losing speed.  Ogbonda  currently has offers from Virginia, Florida Atlantic and Louisana-Lafayette.

The Panthers coaching staff could sign as many as four defensive lineman in this cycle as they lose starting DE Christo Bilukidi, DE Kalan Jenkins and DT Khirrey Karriem to graduation.
