Georgia State Football Recruiting: Joseph Peterson Is First Commit

The Georgia State football team has hit the recruiting trail hard to reload for the 2012 recruiting cycle and it's paid off with its first commitment from an out of state prospect.  According to 247sports.com linebacker Joseph Peterson of Dothan HS in Dothan, Alabama has given his verbal pledge to the Panther coaching staff.

Peterson is a 6'0, 210lbs outside linebacker who is a tackling machine.  He is very quick to the football and has a frame to hold 20+lbs with college level strength and conditioning.  As a Junior, he piled up 123 tackles, four sacks, six tackles for loss.

Joseph committed sight unseen but plans to visit the Atlanta campus later this summer.  He is currently classified as a "soft" commit as he will take additional visits this summer and Fall. He was holding offers to Southern Miss and Western Kentucky.

Junior Highlights

Georgia State is expected to sign 15-18 players on National Signing Day on February 1, 2012.
