In what has been a wild offseason for the Georgia State football team, things may finally be clear in terms of two opponents that came into question earlier this spring.
The Georgia Dome double booked the Atlanta Falcons fourth preseason game vs. the Baltimore Ravens and the Panthers season opener vs. in-city foe Clark Atlanta. After a less-than-neighborly response from the Falcons, the Panthers were forced to move their contest to Friday, September 2nd.
This game will be placed amongst a football frenzy in Atlanta for college football's opening weekend as the following night, the Georgia Dome will serve as the host for nationally ranked Boise State and Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game.
Georgia State athletics also announced that they have replaced the November 5th contest against recently closed Lambuth University with NAIA University of St. Francis, which is located in Joilet, IL. St. Francis is actually the alma mater of Panther running backs coach Craig Harmon; they finished 2010 at 7-4.
