River Bryant, a 6'4, 230-pound tight end from Jackson High School, has committed to attend and play football at Georgia State.
Bryant was reportedly a hot commodity, with interest from some other big-time schools:
Georgia State, which now has six commitments for 2013, was the first offer for Bryant, who also had interest from Auburn, Georgia Tech and a lot of smaller schools.
"I picked Georgia State because they were my first full ride offer," Bryant told the AJC. "They're close to home. I'm just down here in Jackson County, near Athens. It's about 45 minutes to an hour away."
Georgia State is set to join the FBS next season, as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. Bryant will have every opportunity to play for an FBS school on a free ride, and be close to home.
