The Georgia State Panthers earned their first win of 2012 in memorable fashion annihilating the Rhode Island Rams on the road, 41-7.

GSU put up 491 total yards of offense on the day despite going 1-for-9 on third down conversions. The Panthers were also quite efficient with their time, winning by 34 points despite the opposition holding the ball for nearly 13 more minutes.

And the rout was on from Georgia State's opening drive with the Panthers finding pay dirt thanks to a Ben McLane 35-yard touchdown pass to RB Donald Russell. From there, Georgia State would tack on 34 more unanswered before Rhode Island could get points on the board on their final drive.

Eight different Panthers registered a carry for GSU en route to their 274 rushing yards for the game. The Bulldogs were also flawless in the turnover department, wrangling in an interception and a fumble recovery while not coughing up the ball once on their own.

Box Score Hero: Senior running back Donald Russell lead the charge with 201 rushing yards and three total touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) on 21 carries.

Rankings Ramifications: I did mention that GSU was win-less, right? Well, Rhode Island was/is win-less too. I think you get the picture.

Next Week's Schedule: The Panthers will look to carry their momentum back home as they're to take on Villanova next Saturday. On the other end, Rhode Island will be heading to Delaware as they continue their search for that elusive first win.
