Villanova Vs. Georgia State Final Score: Wildcats dominate GSU, win easily, 49-24

This one was never in doubt, with Villanova jumping out to a 21-0 lead before winning, 49-24.

The Villanova Wildcats jumped out to a big 21-0 lead and never relinquished it, winning easily on the road against Georgia State, 49-24.

Georgia State watched two John Robertson touchdown passes and a Poppy Livers punt return before they were able to put their first points on the board (a 34-yard Wil Lutz field goal). The Wildcats went on to add two more touchdowns in the half, putting Villanova up 35-10 with the teams heading into the locker room.

And in the second act, it was much of the same as Villanova tacked on two more scores toward the start of the fourth quarter. Georgia State got 14 points back with a pair of garbage-time scores but, after allowing 343 total rushing yards to the Wildcats, they didn't stand much of a chance.

GSU QB Ben McLane was erratic all day, throwing two interceptions along with a 4.4 average on his 37 attempts. The Panthers also struggled on third down, going 4-for-15 with the Wildcats out-gaining them by 10 in first downs.

Box Score Hero: Villanova had two ball carriers average more than 7 yards per carry with RB Kevin Monangai (18 carries, 130 yards, one TD) and QB John Robertson (11 carries, 87 yards, one TD) moving the chains all day.

Next Week's Schedule: Villanova will look to build on their quietly successful season as they head back home to play Towson while Georgia State heads to James Madison.
